W hat is Executive Search?
Executive search is the active recruiting of talent for a senior-level vacancy. An executive search firm is generally retained to fill a key position within an organization. W hy Do Companies Outsource Their Executive Searches? Executive search involves ‘headhunting’: approaching the competition’s happily- employed executives, and presenting them with another opportunity. There are a number of reasons why an organization may not wish to engage in this practice. It is a delicate, time-intensive process, and most companies do not wish to be directly associated with recruiting talent from their competition. We target those star individuals who are highly successful in their present roles, in order to transfer their talent to your company. It is sometimes more cost-effective to outsource executive recruiting, both in the short- and long-term. In-house Human Resources departments often do not wish to allocate the personnel and time for such an extensive endeavor. Consider also the high cost to a company in downtime and period-of-adjustment when an executive must be replaced: the national average is $60K. We are hired to comb the market, and bring in an experienced candidate who will stay the course. Hence, retaining an executive search firm is often the most economic method of conducting an executive search. |
